London Boy Actually Missing Kid from Bihar? CM Orders Investigation
Patna: March 25, 2008
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, following news of the sighting of a kidnapped boy from Bihar in London, U.K., assured full cooperation to the family members of the boy saying he would ask the Center for its intervention in determining the real identity of the boy and reuniting him with his family in Bihar if he in fact turned out to be the child abducted three years ago.
As reported in the media, six-year old Sintu, the son of Ganga Prasad and Bindia Devi of Aurangabad and the nephew of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) legislator Bhim Singh, was kidnapped from near his home on March 3, 2005.
No demand was ever made from Sintu's kidnappers nor was his body ever recovered until this past weekend when a couple of TV channels in London portrayed a 'turban-wearing six year old Sikh who had remarkable resemblance with the missing boy.
Somehow the news spread to Aurangabad where the family members saw the pictures of the boy and recognized him as Sintu despite a turban on his head.
Singh said he has also sought the help of the Chief Minister in bringing back the boy home.
The boy who remains in London police custody is being questioned by the authorities to ascertain his identity and whereabouts.
A DNA test could be conducted on the boy to verify the claims of Ganga Prasad and his wife.
