Contractor Shot, Robbed. Photo by Shashi UttamBrazenly daring criminals in Patna on Wednesday shot an FCI contractor Ram Balak Kumar under Agam Kuan police station in Patna City and stole Rs. 2.5 lakh in cash that he had withdrawn just moments ago from a nearby Punjab National Bank branch.

In a police report filed by Kedar Kumar, a relative of Ram Balak Kumar who was sitting behind the victim on his motorcycle and was hit on his head by a pistol butt by the criminals, the two men were returning from the Punjab National Bank when they were forced to stop on Kanti Factory Road by two criminals on a motorcycles.

Kedar who was hiding the money in his helmet was knocked down on the ground and hit on the head for trying to hide the money. As he tried to regroup, the criminals shot Ram Balak in his neck when he showed signs of resistance.

Ram Balak was rushed to a private nursing home where he continues to struggle for his life.

Angry protestors then blocked the road and gathered outside the nursing home demanding arrests of the criminals.
