Armed Robbery in Shivpuri

Patna: May 8, 2008

Armed criminals in Patna on Wednesday night entered into the home of a medical store owner in Shivpuri under Shastri Nagar police station and after taking the residents hostage at gun points, stole cash and valuables over Rs. 1.5 lakh, the police said.

The incident occurred at around 9:30 pm when Ashok Kumar, the owner of Priya Medical Store in Shivpuri, returned home with his nephew after closing the shop. Just outside his home on Road Number 1, two criminals stopped them and stuck guns to their heads.

At gun points, the robbers entered Kumar's house and immediately took all family members hostage at gun points. After ransacking the house, the criminals escaped with Rs. 25,000 in cash, jewelries, cell phones and other valuables totaling approximately Rs. 1.5 lakh.

Shastri Nagar police officials and Sachivalaya DSP later visited the victims' house and collected crime evidences to find some clue in the case.

So far no arrest has been made.
