Government Office Burglarized; Computers Stolen. Photo by Anupam SinghBurglars in Patna on late Friday night broke into a government office located within the Golghar premises and stole four computers and other office equipment, Gandhi Maidan police station in-charge Mundrika Prasad said.

Interestingly, there was a night watchman at the office who slept through the entire burglary process as the crooks emptied the office.

The office at Golghar was used to store sensitive block and district data, officials said.

The total cost of the computers stolen is estimated to be about Rs. 1 lakh but the data lost with it could cost several lakh rupees to gather and recompile, they said.

Police are quizzing the night watchman to establish his role in the burglary.

No arrest has been made in the case yet.
