"Biharis may not have been very good at maintaining history, their sacrifice during the Independence struggle could not be minimized by any stretch of imagination," the Chief Minister said while releasing the book that contains accounts of a number of freedom fighters from Bihar who gave their lives during the long resistance against the British rulers.

Narain's son who is instrumental in getting the new edition released said the book, despite having been written over 60 years ago, still had relevance in today's age as it continues to shed lights on historical events involving freedom struggle heroes from Bihar.

Kumar also honored Chandrakala Devi, the wife of late freedom fighter Ramkrishna Singh, the daughter of Batukeshwar Dutt, and the daughter of Sukhdeo Narayan by presenting them mementos of India's freedom movement.

The Chief Minister also honored the late fathers of Janata Dal (U) leaders Shivanand Tiwari and Brishan Patel for their contributions in the freedom struggle.

Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, Bihar Legislative Council Chairperson Prof. Arun Kumar and several other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
