Computer Shop on S. P. Verma Road Burglarized

Patna: May 12, 2008

A day after robbers hit a government office located in the Golghar premises, burglars broke into a computer shop on S. P. Verma Road under Gandhi Maidan police station on late Sunday night and stole computers and other valuables totaling over Rs. 7 lakh, the police in Patna said.

The theft was noticed by a shop employee on Monday morning when he arrived there to open the store.

In a police report filed by the owner of Ganpati Systems located inside the Shanti Complex, the thieves entered the shop by breaking open three locks. Once inside, they targeted items like hard drives, memory chips, motherboards, CPU chips and other computer parts that had been delivered only hours ago.

The police, however, are suspicious of the theft assertion saying the crime appeared to be an inside job since there was a guard outside the shop who claims no knowledge of any break in.
