Lady Governor Opens Children's Park in Memory of CM's Wife

Photo by Anupam SinghState's First Lady Kamalatai Gavai, at Kankarbagh in Patna on Wednesday, inaugurated a children's park in memoriam of Manju Sinha, the late wife of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, to mark the first anniversary of Mrs. Sinha's death.

Sinha, a school teacher, after battling pneumonia and chest infection for nearly two weeks, died at a Delhi hospital last year this day. She was 51.

Governor R. S. Gavai, Nitish Kumar, his son Nishant, Patna Mayor Sanjay Kumar and a number of people from the People's Cooperative Society of Kankarbagh placed flowers at the statue of Mrs. Sinha and planted trees in the park in her memory.

A puja and a 'bhajan' program was also organized to mark the event.

The park features swings and other fun items for the children and sitting areas and walking tracks for the elderly.
