CM to Inaugurate 115 New Bridges in Bihar

To mark the completion of three years of NDA in power in Bihar, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, at a ceremony to be held at the conference hall in the Secretariat on Monday, will inaugurate the opening of 115 new bridges in the state, officials in Patna said on Sunday.
All the bridges, some small, some big, have been constructed under the Chief Minister Bridge Construction Scheme.
"Our plan had been to build new bridges in all those areas where roads were destroyed by flood. Not only this would improve traffic situation in those areas, it would also rid the areas around them from water-logging," the Chief Minister said at a press conference on Sunday.
With a total cost of Rs. 1100 crore, bridges have been built in Patna, Araria, Aurangabad, Bhagalpur, Supaul, Munger, Sheikhpura, Jamui, Madhepura, Katihar, Banka, Samastipur, Sitamarhi, Darbhanga, Nalanda, Rohtas, Lakhisarai, Gaya, Bhabhua, Jehanabad, Kishanganj, Saharsa, Khagaria, Begusarai, Nawada, Buxar, Purnia, Bhojpur, Arwal, Sheohar, Gopalganj, Siwan, Chhapra, Gopalganj, Madhubani, and Vaishali, Kumar said.
"Just as our bridge scheme has been a huge success in the state, our attempts to combat crime in Bihar would be the next success story," he further said.
