Donations for Bihar flood relief continued to pour in on Friday as dozens of private groups and political organizations announced their decisions to make cash contributions ranging from a few thousand rupees to several crores while also offering help in providing food and drugs to the victims of flood.
While the state Health Minister Nand Kishore Yadav on Friday flagged off a truck with 30,000 kilogram of rice to Purnia, leaders from various political parties announced their decision to donate their one month salary or pension towards the flood relief fund.
Anand Kumar, the Director of the state's noted coaching institute Super-30, was even more creative in his attempt to help flood victims when he announced his decision to set up a weeklong special coaching class for 2,000 IIT aspirants that would cost them a mere Rs. 200.
"The entire collection would go towards the Chief Minister's Relief Fund," Kumar said on Friday.
In Bhimpur in Supaul district, members of the Art of Living organization distributed food and water bottles to thousands of flood victims while in Patna, the Bihar School Examination Board donated Rs. 5 crore towards the CM Relief Fund.
Another Rs. 1 crore was donated by the Bihar Text Book Corporation.
