I
find it deeply disturbing and horrific that a
woman of dubious character supported by corrupt
and criminal elements is bent upon character
assassination of an IPS officer in Bihar. The
Chief Minister has been kind enough to her by
ordering a high level enquiry which proved her
allegations to be totally false. Media is being
taken for a ride. After harassing Amitabh Kumar
Das she is trying to intimidate the higher
echelons of administration through SMS and
giving it a wide publicity through media. I
strongly feel that media should not allow itself
to be used like this and give wide publicity to
the police officers views also who is known to
be an honest and upright officer and has taken
strong actions against corrupt and criminal
elements.
The Chief Minister, higher echelons of police
and bureaucracy should not be allowed to be
intimidated by criminal elements using a woman
as front for blackmailing. Using sexual
exploitation against a woman draws media and
public attention and sympathy. If really
victimized women are to be helped, media should
refrain from publicizing false allegations,
otherwise it will lose credibility soon and
people will take it as crying wolf.

Media has important role in creating
public opinion, therefore, it must
guard itself from vested interest
planting news to create
sensationalism. As it has happened
in the case of honest and upright
Police Officer of Bihar Mr. Amitabh
Kumar Das. An unscrupulous lady has
started media trial with trump up
charges against this Police Officer
to create sensationalism- but as
reported- on close scrutiny, Police
Chief found these charges untenable.
Media should try to understand the
agony that this police officer, his
family and friends has gone through
this media trial for weeks. This has
not stopped as yet, as this lady has
adopted nefarious trick to send
innumerable SMS to DGP and other
high Police officials , which is
hampering them in discharge of their
duties. Media must come forward to
discourage these kind of activity -
