Culture
means ‘a way of life’. Every country has its own
custom. People of different nations are
recognized by their culture. Indian culture was
known in other parts of the world since the
ancient age. Chinese and other countries’
scholars had come to India for getting education
and learning Indian civilizations. They
acknowledged the Indian culture highly.
One should be proud on its impressive
traditions. It is the responsibility of all
citizens to preserve their ethnicity. Today we
are ready to betray our old way of life, which
we got through our ancestors. It seems days are
not far away when the famous Indian civilization
would be buried not by others but by the Indian
themselves.
One should be progressive and visionary. Indian
youths are doing splendidly in all fields. They
have a mission to do something. Demands of our
scientists, engineers, doctors’ and management
experts have been growing In the IT sector,
Indian youths have made the country proud. One
alarming sign is that the overall progress of
young generation in big cities is not
satisfactory.
Students of metropolitan cities are not
conscious, their main purpose is to earn money
and enjoy life. Therefore, in the reputed
institutions poor states students are in
majority. In the metropolitan cities, youths are
wasting their time and energy in adopting
western culture. It does not mean that western
civilization is corrupt. The question is why are
we preferring others lifestyle instead of our
own.
These days films and MNCs (Multi National
Companies) have changed the entire scenario of
Indian society. Today’s movies are full of
violence and sex. Female characters wear scanty
dresses. Such dresses are the destroyer of
masculine peace of mind.
Of late in a fashion show in Mumbai a model’s
clothes slipped on the ramp and she became
naked. It seems it was pre-planned to get
popularity. She is getting media attraction and
people were talking about her. Its impact would
be detrimental on the society. The way models
are wearing clothes in the name of fashion and
designers popularity the day is not far away
when people will see some models completely
naked on the ramp.
Bipasha Basu, Malika Sherawat and company are
famed for showing their skins on the silver
screens. This way they become the cynosure of
the youths; unnecessary rape sexual scenes and
violence are pumped into films for the
popularity.
MNCs (Multi National Companies) are alluring
people towards them. They are hiring celebrities
for the advertisement of their products so that
people consume them more and more. Today’s
advertisement is not appealing rather they are
very much related to pornography.
Not to talk of movies even watching match or
news with the family members become difficult,
during the break your heart beats become fast
because what type of advertisement now would be
shown. So some people always keep remote with
them and change channels to avoid such
advertisements.
It is true that we have entered in the 21st
century but it does not mean that we have got
the license to corrupt our society, teenagers
know everything regarding sex thanks to today’s
movies and TV serials.
Valentine day is celebrated every year on 14th
February. Young boys and girls celebrate this
day with great enthusiasm. They purchase
expensive valentine cards for their mates. The
sale of condoms had gone up on the eve of
valentine day. Physical attraction is the first
priority after that comes dance music and eatery
on this day.
Valentine day is the media and MNCs’ hype. Now
this day is celebrated like the national
festival. Card companies want business and
newspapers and TV channels get advertisement so
both are together trying to popularise this day
as much as possible. Archie's cards have
strengthened their feet on the Indian soil due
to the changing Indian customs.
Not to talk of valentine day even father day,
mother day, friendship day and many other days
have emerged in India. These ‘days’ are the
brainchild of those MNCs card companies.
Western culture is a curse for the Indian
society. Why do we make an outcry when a girl is
raped? Girls are not safe especially in big
cities. Their chastity is in danger even on
trains and buses. In every 30 seconds, a girl is
molested in India. Not to talk of Delhi this
city is totally unsafe for women.
Despite these, girls are not ready to stop
wearing the short dresses. In most rape cases
victim and accuse both parties know each other.
When girls go to school, college and office
parents remain anxious until their return to
home. Our society has made the life of women
insecure. We are sole responsible for corrupting
our social order.
Even in schools, sex is free. Environment is so
free that school boys and girls go to cinema and
restaurant together without any hesitation.
Their guardians are not aware of their
activities. Last year in a sensational MMS case
of a reputed Delhi’s school rocked the country.
What would happened in coming years only God
knows
Food habits of the urban people have changed.
People feel proud in eating Pizza burger, chips
etc. To eat junk foods in Macdonald is the new
culture developed in our society. In spite of
doctor’s advice not to eat such foods because
they are bad for health, we are not ready to
change our habits, as we have to show our
dignity in the society
It is an old saying (Kawwa chala hans ki chaal
to bhool gaya khud apni chaal) negative result
of the adoption of western culture is in front
of us. If we want to see everything once again
on the right track then we will have to return
to our culture so that we can make an
egalitarian society once again.

First,
stop using Computers, Electricity,
Batteries, Pens, Pencils, Rubbers,
TVs, Refrigerators, Printers and the
list goes on. These come from the
west, so they are bad. The western
culture and society is so bad, so
change your clothes from pants and
shirts and Italian shoes to
traditional Indian clothing and
footwear. Then maybe you can write
your article without a hint of
hypocrisy.
Stop using spoons, gas cylinders and
stoves to cook food. Do not use Coal
and kerosene oil. Do not use
Airplanes, trains, or cars, and
begin using bullock cart and horses.
Maybe you can afford to feed an
elephant. Next time you are sick, do
not seek qualified medical
attention, because I am sure the
tribal herbalist can cure all
ailments.
Do not send your kids to School,
College and University. Send them to
Madrassa or Pathsala with just Urdu
or Hindi education. Do not clutter
their young minds with English, math
or science. Do not allow them to
know there is anything beyond the
borders of India. Keep them
backwards and afraid. That is how
India will get ahead. - S. M.

I
think some of the logic is twisted.
I would just like to point a few
points author has made and how
absurd they are -
“Western culture is a curse for the
Indian society. Why do we make an
outcry when a girl is raped? Girls
are not safe especially in big
cities. Their chastity is in danger
even on trains and buses. In every
30 seconds, a girl is molested in
India.”
“Female characters wear scanty
dresses. Such dresses are the
destroyer of masculine peace of
mind”
Bombay and Calcutta are much safe
than Bihar and U.P. and women in
Bombay wear more boldly than Bihar
and U.P. it’s the overall
lawlessness of society that
determines how many women are raped.
Do you mean to say women are not
raped in Pakistan where they don’t
wear provocative dresses?
Also women in the west wear dresses
that are scanty but rapes are less
common there.
“The sale of condoms had gone up on
the eve of Valentine's Day. Physical
attraction is the first priority
after that comes dance music and
eatery on this day.”
Do you own a condom shop? How did
you reach at this conclusion? What’s
wrong with dance, music and physical
attraction? Aren’t human beings born
due to physical attraction? If
physical attraction was wrong then
we are wrong in having Kamadeva as a
Hindu god!
“Environment is so free that school
boys and girls go to cinema and
restaurant together without any
hesitation.”
I studied in Bombay for 10 yrs. and
we used to go to restaurants and
movies with female friends that did
not mean that we were having sex.
Whereas when I was in Bihar I saw
men pulling dupattas, grabbing
women’s parts and purposely hitting
them while on bicycle etc. etc. Will
you feel safe when your daughter
walks on the streets in western
country/Bombay or Bihar?
Lawlessness lets men rape and grab
women not scanty dresses and in a
democratic and free society people
are allowed to choose their dresses
and culture. If you don’t like
western culture don’t follow it but
don’t blame western culture for
women being molested in India. -

I
think Shri Wasimul Haque was talking
of culture. Shri Khurshid Anwar has
gone on a tangent to that. I do not
agree with Shri. Haque 100% on all
points but have no time to
elaborate.
In a nutshell, the aping of cultures
with the label of "development" is
wrong. Development can only mean
what is good for human beings and
societies. We have to decide what is
good for us and retain that. For
that we have to resist people who
are out to earn money by misguiding
our youth. - Rajesh Chaubey -

Dear Mr. Khurshid,
With due respect to your reactions
and comments I would like to briefly
state that Mr Wasim has not talk
anything against about Western
Technology, Western Medical Science
Western Clothing etc.
Let me inform you that the main
ingredients of his views have been
the influence of Western Culture in
term of pornography and related
issue like rape, sex, violence. Can
you analyze an article between the
para, lines and words? Next time
onward do not react immediately,
read, understand and analyze, then
visualize and react. - Md.

Effect of Western Civilization on
Eastern culture ( Indian Culture or
Vedic culture) always attract a
mixed response. Some say it is good,
some say it is bad, someone relates
this to individual choice and
freedom. Before commenting on this
let us define the word culture
purpose of having culture in any
society. To me culture means the way
we eat, the way we sleep, the way we
mate and the way we defend ourselves
- that is culture. Habit of eating,
sleeping, mating and defending
defines the culture of any society.
Not only the Indian society but the
whole world seems to be blindly
following the glamour and glitter of
western civilization. Fact is,
western civilization is on the verge
of extinction, their population rate
is on decline, if it continues to
happen whole western world which
includes Europe and America,
population will vanish in another
thousand or two thousand years.
Reason is western sleeping, eating,
sexual and defending habits are
unnatural and against the law of
nature. There habits violets the
principal of "SIMPLE LIVING AND HIGH
THINKING".
But principal of "SIMPLE LIVING AND
HIGH THINKING" is backbone of Indian
civilization or rather I should say
Vedic civilization. Indians follow
Vedic civilization, whether he is
Hindu, Muslim or follower of any
other religion or faith. Vedic
civilization has survived and
thrived since billion of years.
I won't elaborate on this topic
because it would be another article.
But we do need to ponder on few
questions before declaring Western
Civilization as devil of Humanity
i) Was invention of car is bad of
good for humanity?
ii) Is industrialization leading
towards destruction and devastation?
iii) Is agrarian civilization is
better than Industrial Civilization?
Once we have answer of these
question then only we can understand
"WHY VEDIC CIVILIZATION IS UNIQUE,
BEST AND TRULY SCIENTIFIC
CIVILIZATION".
Vedic civilization teaches us how to
live in harmony with nature. Of
course in due course of time few
impurities and defects have invaded
this GREAT CIVILIZATION. But in
spite of those defects and
impurities, "VEDIC CIVILIZATION IS
ONLY HOPE FOR HUMANITY".
This is the best gift an Indian can
give to world . Bihar has been
epicenter of these great
civilization. As Biharis and
Indians, it is our duty to protect
and spread the glory of this great
civilization to all over the world
for our own benefit and for benefit
of humanity. - Niraj Singh - Apr.
