last! Finally! Der aaye durust aaye!!!
Ok, so what am I ranting about?
I am talking about the redesigned web site of
Bihar Intermediate Education Council
(BIEC).
Many of you will recall my annoyance with
several Bihar government web sites
through this article that I wrote for
PatnaDaily last March.
It appears some people actually read it and took
my criticism in a constructive manner. And even
if they didn't, I am glad some sane person is
looking over this matter.
Check out the new-improved BIEC site. I am
impressed. This is how a web site should be.
Nice, elegant, distraction-free, no
headache-inducing scrolling marquee, no blinking
icons or customized cursors that simply refuse
to quit chasing your mouse movement on the
screen. Fast, to the point, sensible navigation,
professional color combination, no unnecessary
text justification (can't stand those long white
spaces between two words!) - just to name a few.
Looks like it has been designed by people who
know what they are doing and not by a 12-year
old kid who wants to show-off how 'technical
savvy' he or she is! Not that I have anything
against kids venturing into web designing; it's
a great and exciting area to enter into, but
government web sites should be designed by true
professionals, not amateurs!
You guys have made me proud. I am very
impressed. Great job guys.
Now only if others would follow the suit!
