It
gives me great satisfaction and pride to see
that the youth of Bihar is concentrating on
enhancing their academic and competitive skills,
without thinking about caste, religion and other
man-made distinctions. The talent is natural and
Bihar has had no dearth of talent since time
immemorial. Be it Lord Buddha or Mahatma Gandhi,
they made Bihar their Karmbhumi not for nothing.
I am currently out of the country, but always
keep myself abreast of what is happening in our
country and our state. In last few days, there
were two great news items for me and my family -
one was about the Netarhat Vidyalaya and the
other about the Super-30. Both stories
highlighted the fact that the elemental Bihari
(and I am proud to call myself a Bihari), has
got mcuh better than the national average in
terms of talents required to turn Bihar into a
developed state sans the petty politicians who
have been condemning this reservoir of talent
into a bottomless pit of poverty, crime and
power game.
Under the new leadership, may Bihar develop to
its potential and be counted as a leader in the
comity of Indian States. I salute the work done
by the mentors of Super-30 and the teachers and
managers of Netarhat Vidyalaya to showing to the
entire nation what Bihar can do.
Last but not the least, my heartiest
congratulations not only to Prateek but to all
the youths of Bihar who cracked the much
difficult IIT-JEE examination with flying
colours. Today I am going to celebrate with my
family and friends here in Botswana.

Biharis are well known for their
administrative and technical skills.
They are serving in top
organizations both in Indian as well
as multi-nationals. Even the
not-so-educated people of Bihar are
serving the nation by going to
different states like Punjab,
Maharashtra, Hyderabad, even
Chennai, by cultivating their lands,
pulling their luggage, building
their sky-scrapers. The top level
engineers and doctors have a large
percentage of Biharis too. On the
political scenario, too, several
personalities like Nitish Kumar,
George Fernandes etc. are serving
the nation in their own ways. Pepsi
had appointed a Bihari as their
National CEO when it arrived India.
After all the great deeds, there is
a story to tell.
A hermit (saadhu) went to a village
where he was given warm welcome, hot
tea, delicious food and comfortable
bed to sleep. After moving out of
the village, he waived his hands to
the sky and said "Oh God, may this
village get perished".
His followers were shocked at the
saadhu's words and asked him in
angry tone, "Baba.. this village has
given you all the comforts and still
you are asking for its demolition."
Saadhu smiled and said "Wait for a
while and I would tell you the
reason".
They, then, went to a village where
everybody scolded them, hit them
with sticks and made mockery of
them. After returning from that
village, saadhu again raised his
hands in air and said "Oh God! May
this village cherish and flourish!"
Now the followers were really angry
and asked saadhu: "It's unfair baba!!
These people are so unkind to us and
you are asking for their betterment.
If I was that much powerful, I
should have cursed this village to
get vanished in a second!!" Saadhu
smiled and said, "I wished this
village for development so that the
people would never leave this
village and thus the evil would stay
confined to this place!"
After a long breath, he said "In
spite of my great affection for the
earlier village, I cursed them so
that the people of that village
would spread across the country for
bread and butter and thus would
spread their good virtue and
thoughts!!"
The followers were amazed and the
Saadhu was smiling.
Our Bihar is suffering from the
curse given by the noble men only
due to good virtue of it!! Keep it
up, Biharis. Bihar Zindabad!!! -

Mr.
Ravish - excellent story. Request to
Bihari friends - Please distribute
it as a forwarded message to all of
your friends. This should be another
media campaign to improve the image
to Bihar. - Om Kumar - June 6,
