There were so many stories of Shahabuddin when he used to use his muscle and political power to behave like a superpower of Siwan. He even used to slap some police officers and get away with it. At that time no one bothered to care about the humiliation of police force in the hand of Shahabuddin and his goons.

Now when Shahabuddin is slapped by a DSP, some people are talking about his MP status, that he should be given some respect.

He requires a special treatment, which can only be given by officers like Ratn Sanjay and Amit Lodha. Officers like these are always on their duty to alienate anti-social elements, even when they are under pressure to slow down. Given a free hand, they can make our state a crime-free state.

I would like to mention that IPS officer Amit Lodha has an excellent record in policing. Besides, he has done some remarkable works that makes this energetic officer a role model for youths like us.

Please visit this link to see one of his efforts, which is not his policing work.

The Constitutional obligation is that everyone is equal in the eyes of the law. Regardless of cast, creed or religion, position or social status, rich or poor, black or white; no one is above the law. The Constitution of India Republic guarantees right to equality to every citizen of the country. And who is law abiding is a matter of social stigma in terms of today’s Bihar.

The opinion of the Jail Officer, Siwan is lawfully bold, valid and deserves praise from a civilized society that even the Chief Minister will have to follow the jail rules if he wishes to meet a prisoner. Above all, civility is a permanent feature of every civilized society. The sole duty of every police officer is to protect the citizen and catch the law-breakers whosoever that may be. In this way a healthy society is healthier. - Madani Mohiuddin Ahmad, King Saud University, Riyadh, KSA - June 6, 2006

It's true that every citizens should abide by the law of the land but that law applies to a MP like Shahabuddin too. I am very much sure that he must have done some stupid activity as usual and got slapped by the DSP. It may be his trick to get out of Siwan jail and get transferred somewhere else as Laloo said 'out of state prizon'.

This is a very positive attitude shown by Md. Hizbullah to the police community of India. Amit Lodha is not alone. Look at the 'Super 30 IIT'ians'. They are being coached by another police officer and how you feel when a so called politician misbehaves with him. - Naren Singh, USA - June 8, 2006

I read the message of Mr. Madani Mohiuddin Ahmad and it is awful. He may have personal anguish with Siwan RJD leader and most probably being a Muslim he wants to prove that he is a more secular person but actually he is not.

It is true that constitutional obligation is a must for every Indians, but he forgot to write for every Indian citizen either he is a politician or an administrator of law and order. He has pointed only RJD leader but he has avoided the deeds of the jailor, how he treated others on very next day with the prisoners in jail.

The law and order of Bihar is really worst but it is not due to RJD leader but the complete constitutional organs are playing equal roles. - Jawed Hussain , Dubai - UAE - June 8, 2006

Statement of Mr. Jawed Hussain is the perfect piece of mis-interpreting someone’s expression. His statement against Mr. Madani Mohiuddin Ahmad, is in very bad taste. - Md. Hizbullah - June 8, 2006

Jawedji, I don't think Madaniji's comment signals personal anguish about the criminal politician, but somehow it indicates your personal attachment with this incarcerated MP. He has beaten policemen several times as if they are street dogs. Beating an on-duty government officer is actually a strike on Constitution of India unless there is genuine reason behind it.

Don't worry; nature knows how to balance it. The day will come when one self-respecting officer will repeat the story of "Shool".

We don't need to remind anyone about his religion or secularism. Madaniji's articles and comments reflect true Bihari and Indianness. We are thankful to him. - Tarakeswar Dubey - June 9, 2006

Supporting a certified criminal like Shahabuddin in itself is a crime. I am also convinced that all this drama of being sick by the Siwan MP is nothing more than that - a drama that can only fool leaders like Lalu Prasad Yadav, Sadhu Yadav, and Jai Prakash Yadav who all face criminal charges just like Shahabuddin. Release him today and you will see he all of his ailments mysteriously vanish in one day!

Has anyone noticed that the Siwan MP is not getting any moral support from other RJD leaders like Ram Kripal Yadav or Shyam Rajak or Shivanand Tiwari whose records are squeaky clean and by and large liked by leaders from other parties despite political differences? - Ajay Kumar Singh - June 9, 2006

Janab Jawed Saheb

I request you to review my comment on the article by Hizbullah Saheb. It is not even puritanical. Former President Bill Clinton faced impeachment for committing perjury; internationally recognized politician Mrs. Gandhi was produced before the Court of Law for the sake of law in the Court of Justice Hidayatullah. Then, the National Congress Party of India got a severe defeat due to the Emergency episode. You keep counting; you may find many events of this sort. We, the Indians, talk of fundamental rights but we seldom talk of fundamental duties. I am a free citizen of India; I too have constitutional obligation and in all sense I RESPECT the law of my beloved land.

Law of the Nature is very simple. A snake bites, a scorpion stings and what about truth? IT PREVAILS. I have no preconception against anyone. Good and bad are distinctively two things and are the part of indivisible social phenomenon, whatsoever it may be. Greek Socrates was given a cup of poison to drink and he drank for the sake of truth. And finally: Allah-o-a limo bei jhaatis-sadoor (The Almighty knows what one keeps in heart) - The Holy Quran. - Madani Mohiuddin Ahmad, King Saud University, Riyadh, KSA
