Yesterday I saw a news broadcast in NDTV India and felt like hiding my face with shame. The news was of course related to Bihar where on one hand the government is making all effort to bring back some order but at the same time there are people who are out to prove that Bihar has become a land of scoundrels and cheaters.

The news was from Madhepura district and the person involved is a so called doctor Mahavir Yadav. He claims himself to be a doctor who is a specialist in treating people suffering from mental problems. Do you all know, what is his line of treatment? He chains his patients like animals. What a pathetic scene it was to see. The TV reporter told that even animals are treated better than human.

Earlier the doctor was quoted of taking only token money but than later it was revealed that he charges Rs 2,500 to 3,000 from each patient. Are the simple villagers so ignorant that they get lured by such doctors? The reporter also informed that these things cannot flourish without the knowledge of administration and police. Thus if something like this has been flourishing then there is a lot more questions arises on the credibility of administration in Madhepura district.

Any cleaning of years of dirt requires lot of determination and personal sacrifice (as told by Mr. Nitish Kumar). For cleaning at the lower level, it is the common people and administration that have to show a lot of will power.
