The people of India are extremely intelligent. As we all know many great brains have been born on the Indian soil. Unfortunately, intelligence is a double edged sword. It cuts both ways. So some people outwitted the others and blocked their development.

However even among the poor, not so educated people we find extraordinary brilliance. Take vegetable vendors. Many times such vendors are practically illiterate ladies and small children. You can go and buy vegetables of any whole or fractional weight and watch them calculate the cost in seconds. There are numerous such examples.

Where proper avenues are present the intelligence of the people shines out in a good area. Where such avenues are not present intelligence of the people is directed into unlawful destructive areas. The very same intelligent people who would have contributed greatly to the society had there been proper opportunities, use their intelligence against the society. In the wrong areas too they are extremely technically innovative. Someone rigs up a mini telephone exchange, another fellow clones your sym card, yet another manages to take out money from someone else’s account through the ATM.

These people, even though not highly qualified, are not foolish bumpkins. They are very intelligent people using their brains against the society for want of a legal, constructive outlet. There are millions of such spoilt geniuses in various walks of life. Give them the opportunities and your law and order situation will become better overnight.

The Government of India is sitting on a resource that can make it zoom past all other countries if it is tapped properly. If we can bring education to the masses, the future of science and technology will be in Indian hands.
