In
1982, I got chance, for the first time, to see
Hajipur junction with my five high schoolmates.
We went to participate in the district level
science exhibition in G.A. High School Hajipur.
Thanks to Indian Railways, train was one hour
late so on return we got chance to look around.
We went around and had many funny experiences as
we all were from countryside. Our one of the
very impressive experiences was the lines of
Rashtrakavi Dinkar written very beautifully (in
black color on yellow background) on the walls
inside the junction. After finishing high school
education I got many chances to see them but
first impression and feelings that came from
those lines are still alive and a source of
feeling proud of my home district. Some of those
lines are below (I hope these lines are still
there)
Ganga Gandak kee ramaya bhumi par basi yeh
nagari Vaishali
Sabase pahale yeheen utpanna hui thee
prajatantra kee lalee
Vaishali jana ka pratipalak hai gana ka aadi
vidhata,
Jise dhundhata vishva aaj prajatantra kee mata
(may be something missing sorry…….based on
memory)
Perhaps to symbolize such historical importance,
Vaishali was made a constituency for Lok Sabha
and Vidhan Sabha. But now it seems there will be
nothing like Vaishali constituency if changes
made by delimitation commission were
implemented.
In my opinion Vaishali constituency should be
kept at any cost to symbolize the evolution of
democracy on this planet. The delimitation
commission should not propose changes that will
hide symbol and the birth place of democratic
system of rule. Although I have nothing to do
with the political causes or effects or outcomes
but I hope people of Bihar will like to keep the
name of the area that gave philosophy, concept
and model of government by people and of the
people as original. So like to say
Khsetra Vaishali Vaishali heen rahen mat
badale isake nam
Prajatantra kee yehee jananee hai yehee hoga
aage dhama
