The murder of Papiya Ghosh has been 'solved' and the police personnel, civil servants, political figures in the ruling and opposition parties have heaved a sigh of relief. Papiya Ghosh was murdered in such a brutal manner that cannot be described in words, the torture and pain she had to go through before the final release to death is even worst than the the genocide killings in Darfur. The police insists that this was the work of young first time criminals. As a Forensic Expert, I insist that such a murder, the worst that can ever be inflicted on any human, cannot be committed by ordinary criminals. The murder of Papiya Ghosh has been hushed up. It now only depends on the people of Patna to demand justice for Professor Papiya Ghosh.

Comments:
I cannot agree more with what Amitabh Mitra has written. Such a gruesome murder, in the heart of Patna, under the very nose of the Police and the administration, and there is no word from the authorities on the progress they have made or on the motives. The last I heard was that the charge sheet has been filed. Is the police treating this as another 'run of the mill' dacoity cum murder case, not so uncommon in Bihar. Is the police incapable of going into the depth of the case. Otherwise why are the facts not being brought to public knowledge?

If Mr. Nitish Kumar is trying to change the image of Bihar, and attract all those who have so far turned their faces away, solving the Papiya Ghosh murder case is a God-given opportunity for him.

We are waiting and watching, Mr. Chief Minister. - Arun Prakash Bakshi - Feb. 24, 2007

I have followed PatnaDaily.Com for over a year now and this news of the gruesome murder of Prof Papiya Ghosh & her live-in help was absolutely one of the most heart wrenching news that I have come across. She was not only a very good teacher & mentor but was actually 'one' of the only reasons why Bihar was in the limelight for a 'POSITIVE' image. Now with her fate brought upon her by 'interested parties' who it seems the government is actually 'VERY AFRAID' to unmask gives almost all NRBs a negative & scary reason NOT to return to Bihar & help in the redevelopment of the state.

The recent well publicized 'SHOW' put on for NRIs & NRBs in Patna was supposed to be a showcase to attract them to return to Bihar to invest their hard earned money as well as the knowledge they acquired overseas to help Bihar become a 'MODEL' state once again, in my opinion, was just that - a showcase.

I personally will not blame the CM or anybody in the assembly since 'they' are elected by the you (the public) so blame yourself. The public is so brainwashed that they cannot see the real problems that is putting Bihar at par with some of the most lawless parts of Africa. We see people having hartal and processions condemning the Shilpa Shetty episode when 50% of those marching in the processions don't even know on what show the problem occurred. - Johnny Chiang - Feb. 24, 2007
