It
is a very welcome development to bring out
cultural heritage of Bihar. (Link)
I will welcome it if Prakash Jha takes the
mantle of cultural ambassador of Bihar. It will
be good if he can bring the cultural heritage of
Bihar on national scene, if possible taking
other noted persons in cultural field with him.
Together with some TV channel a Zee TV Sa Re Ga
Ma type program can be sponsored at state level
to bring out talents. Audio and video cassettes
of devotional, rituals (like marriage etc) and
entertainment songs in Bihari languages like
Maithili, Bhojpuri and Magahi may be released. I
am sure it will have a good market in huge
population of Bihar and specially Biharis
settled out of state and out of country will
definitely welcome them.
Prakash Jha has made many notable films on the
life in Bihar. However most of them were based
on violence and clashes present in society,
though they were for real. However I will
welcome it if he makes an entertaining film
portraying some good things in the life of a
Bihari, some scenic beauty of Bihar. I am sure
many people in Bihar are doing good things and
living happy life and that is also a reality. A
good film need not always be based 100 % on
reality, it can portray some wishful thinking
too as "Munna Bhai" did for Gandhigiri. This
will bring a change in perception about life in
Bihar and about Bihar at national level. It may
even give a new direction in life to many
Biharis who have not been exposed to life
outside Bihar or outside the country.
