Negative Publicity Hurts Bihar

Readers Write

Today I just happened to watch the news item on CNN-IBN about a quack treating the sick and diseased people with sword in almost a tribalistic ritual. I was aghast at reading the almost barbaric ritual in the name of treatment and was asking myself, "Is it still possible in this age of IT and what not"? How could people be still so ignorant? It really bursts the bubble of Indian development and progress. It also makes me realise that there are probably still people who are out there left alone far behind from mainstream with no stake in the development. Whose fault is this? Only God knows. I only can hope it improves soon.

I also felt a little bit angry at IBN for sensationalising the issue as usual and putting as the front news. Even though they are just the messenger, I wish they had exercised caution without going overboard. But sadly this channel is never going to improve. They always print the infamy in bold letters but fail to even do some reporting on a profile in courage, honesty and simplicity of Late Manju Sinha whose death touched almost all Biharis even though we hardly knew her. As I am growing up, I am getting more and more cynical about the realities of the world. What a world!!
