I would like to invite comments from
the reader's of PatnaDaily if the
proposed name change from Gulzarbagh
to Azeemabad is necessary or
acceptable. Also, if we were to
change the name of Mr. Lalu Prasad
Yadav to an Islamic name, what name
would be appropriate? Please
suggest. - Nawal Pandey - Nov.

The change of name is really
uncalled for and is for the selfish
and remote reason. Mr. Prasad is
losing his ground in Bihar and
trying different ways to be in the
news. When he was in charge of Bihar
he did all funny things to sabotage
the name and reputation of Bihar.
This move is just to get admiration
of some people and vote bank. Why
can't he find some different ways to
benefit people? I guess he would go
for the options which will flash him
in news. Development of Bihar and
Bihari people is never his priority.

This shows that Lalu can do anything
for vote bank. When it comes to vote
Lalu can even rename his mother for
temporary gains. - Ronkin Nasa -

[Edited]
Decision to changing name of
Gulzarbagh station to Azeemabad is
just a political drama but nothing
else... Muslims of Bihar have
nothing to do with this.. Lalu Yadav
is trying to regain support of
Muslims but he should remember that
during his 15 years of rule in Bihar
he has done nothing for the Muslims
but making them fools and even his
tenure as a Railway Minister, can he
point a single move which has
benefited Muslims in India or Bihar?
Muslim community has enough monument
across India, from Taj Mahal to Red
Fort, and changing name of one
railway station is not going to make
any difference in their status.
Apart from this, I would also like
to say that those who are opposing
this move in the name of religion
are from the group of mindless who
are always ready to come forward
against Muslims without any reason.

Arabia - Nov. 15, 2007
Dear Kamal Ashrafji,
I think that Muslims of Bihar think
the same way what you think about
this renaming of Gulzarbagh.
But why this aggression in the last
sentence? I think this was not
required. This only leads to
deviation from our main concern i.e.
to discuss serious matters about
Bihar. And I believe this topic is
dear to every one of us.
Particularly this web site
PatnaDaily and almost all other
online groups of Bihar-Jharkhand is
free from this disease (a point
where we score better than many
other states).
Lets not do this please. - Abhay
Kumar - Nov. 15, 2007
Rubbish! Why don't you people notice
that Gulzarbagh itself is an Urdu
(so called Muslim language) word
which means a happening place and
the word Azeemabad means a place
which is of high value and dignity
in all means. Is this wrong to say
"Azeemabad" for a place where
Harmandir Sahib, Patan Devi, Kumhrar,
ancient mosque like Patthar ki
Masjid etc are located?
Frankly speaking I also don't like
people like Mr. Lalu who has given
such a bad name to the state but
it's really bad to see that some
narrow minded people start blaming
Muslims for things which are not in
our hand. - Meraj Ahmad - Nov.

Dear Abhay Kumar Ji:
I can feel your concern on Mr. Kamal
Ashraf comments, but what about the
aggression Mr. Nawal Pandey's has
shown in his following comments:
"if we were to change the name of
Mr. Lalu Prasad Yadav to an Islamic
name, what name would be
appropriate?"
I think every body should observe
that they respect other sentiments
at the time of any communication,
specially in the Media. - Obaid
bin Quasim, Dubai, U.A.E. - Nov. 16,
2007
Dear Mr. Meraj Ahmad:
Gulzarbagh is, like you said, means
'a happening place'. So why not
leave it as it is? It is Urdu (as
you rightly said) and it depicts the
area rather more beautifully than
Azeemabad so why change it?
If you are telling us that Lalu's
decision to change Gulzarbagh's name
from Gulzarbagh to Azeemabad has
nothing to do with the Muslim vote
banks then sadly you don't know the
Lalu mentality. - Arun Kumar -

Dear Quasim ji
I don’t find any aggression against
Muslims as such in Mr. Pandey’s
note. He just seems to be stressing
on what all Lalu can do for gaining
the Muslim vote bank which of late
seems to be slipping away from him.
Mr. Pandey has obviously not said
anything against the Muslim
community.
As regards changing the railway
station’s name from Gulzarbagh to
Azeemabad, it is just another
gimmick from Lalu ji and it is
highly unlikely that he stands to
gain anything out of it. - Rakesh
Kumar - Nov. 16, 2007
I request everybody to discuss only
serious matters. All unnecessary
comments are equally condemnable.
It's a well-known fact how Mr. Lalu
Prasad did use votes of certain
segments (including Muslims) of
Bihar. The same social-groups are
repeatedly being lured by him. And
then not only they but every Bihari
will suffer again. That's what has
happened in last 15 years. No
hospitals, no schools, no jobs...
list is just endless. It should be
everybody's concern now to not let
Mr. Lalu Prasad do this again. -
Abhay Kumar - Nov. 16, 2007
Look, you can't just blame Lalu
Yadav alone. It was not Lalu's
original idea to change the name, it
was rather an elite Muslim group who
first approached with the idea of
changing the name of Gulzarbagh to
Azeemabad, and Lalu took this
opportunity to oblige them. These
same very elite Muslims, had they
gone to Nitish Kumar for something
similar, Nitish might have obliged
them too to get their vote bank.
These politicians are not much
different in seeking vote bank. What
is rather concerning is to find
these so called elite Muslim groups
who don't seem to have something
constructive or better to do! Why
can't they do better things for
improvement of their Muslim brothers
such as help poor Muslims get out of
the morass of poverty, educate them
about the family planning which can
provide them a better quality of
life, help Muslim women prosper by
letting them go out to schools and
colleges to get education, ...and
list goes on and on...! In my
opinion, if these so called elite
Muslims are willing to play in the
hands of Lalu Yadav and Nitish Kumar
by having these politicians fulfill
their silly proposals - I really
feel sorry for the masses of common
Muslims of Bihar. - Ashok Nagar -

Seriously this one is ridiculous. If
in name of secularism some blood-thristy
communal ruler like Aurangzeb had to
be recognised then Lalus and other
psec need to have one close hard
look at the bankruptcy of their
thought process. - Dr. Anil Kumar
