Nitish
Kumar should look beyond Patna and order all the
DM and Collectors to help the people affected by
the flood. Apart from flood, another big crisis
which Bihar is facing is electricity. There is a
widespread corruption in the BSEB. For e.g.
every 2-3 months the transformer is burning,
electric department says they don't have budget
to replace it. People collect money and give it
to electric department then they replace the
transformer which again burns out in 2 months.
Now, electricity department is taking monthly
bills on time and they don't have money to fix
the transformers? The cables are so old that it
can't hold good voltage for more than couple of
hours. If the supply is good then cables burn
out or transformers burn out.
Situation has not improved at all since Nitish
Kumar took over. Electricity situation is same
as it was during Lalu raj. At least with now
Lalu doing wonders with Railways I am sure
people are going to vote Lalu hoping he will do
the same to Bihar as he did to Railways. What
Nitish showed was hope and delivered nothing.
Yes law and order has improved a little bit but
situation is far from normal. Lots need to be
done and you are running out of time. If you
don't act now then very soon Lalu's cow's will
be back in 1 Anne Marg.

Well,
the state of affair of Bihar
presented by the writer seems to be
pessimistic and gloomy and sends a
wrong signal to the nation which is
looking each and every move of Bihar
with great curiosity. It will be a
gross error to conclude that
situation in Bihar has not improved
at all in the recent two three
years. The state government is
putting all its effort to alleviate
the status of the state and it is
conspicuous in almost all the
spheres of daily life, be it law and
order, infrastructure, social
awareness or education for that
matter. It's a well known fact that
the present enhanced status of
Indian Railways is not because of
Mr. Lalu Yadav's vision rather it is
because of an upright and brilliant
IAS officer Mr. Suhdir Kumar.
Further, comparing the vision of
Lalu Yadav and Nitish Kumar
regarding Bihar will be utter
foolishness.
There is no doubt that the Bihar
government has to go a long way in
ensuring the prosperity, social
security, employment generation and
sustainable development for the
people of Bihar. Therefore, we as
intellectuals and responsible
citizens of Bihar have moral
obligation to criticize the
government, in case it fails to keep
its promises. However, in the
process, we should not demean and
disregard the deeds of Nitish Kumar
and his team of upright officers and
politicians as well, who are
determined to take Bihar to a new
high. We should have patience and
observe the things closely with all
our hopes and optimism. - Pankaj
