Ek Bihari... Sau Bimari

"Ek Bihari.. Sau Bimaari”. Well, I won’t target the person who is giving such ridiculous statement but I would urge all Biharis to seriously think on this. There’s something which needs deep introspection.

- What happened to Bihar?
- Why Biharis don’t get the kind of respect they deserve?
- Why Bihar is called a Bimaru state?
- Why people can’t feel proud on the current situation?

If there’s a problem, there must be a solution. Instead of protesting against anybody, it’s the time to think, think on the problem, and draft a plan to resolve it. It’s your problem and you need to solve it.

Wake up, rise and move forward, move until you achieve your dreams, move until you achieve your lost glory. You have given the message of peace in the form of Gautam Buddha, you have given Lord Mahavir. Aryabhatta was born on your soil and you gave birth to first democracy of this world. You taught the entire world in Nalanda University. You had a learned like Chanakya and you had a king like Ashoka. The same blood is running in your vessels, identify it and you’ll come to know that you can also do all these things. Remember, even today your children crack IIT and IAS with better score, better than any other state or region. If you have all this why can’t you be successful in business, technology, and other areas? Surely you can be, you just need to understand your potential, work on it and dream big. I know you have fire in your belly. Don’t waste it in any verbal argument, nurture it, protect it, and use it to do something constructive, to do something creative.

The theory of unity doesn’t sound good from a weak person although it might be from bottom of his heart. Let me recall, “Kshama shobhti us bhujang ko jiske pas garal ho”. A poisonous snake can feel proud by forgiving somebody. Be strong and then talk about unity of India and theory of India as a nation first.

Today if a Bihari says that I’m an Indian first and then a Bihari, it would be treated as his weakness. There’s nothing wrong in that. People will brag as per their character and you can’t change it. What you can do is, to strengthen yourself, to build a new Bihar, to decorate a new Bihar and in any case don’t forget you are an Indian first. You remembered this theory when you were emperor; you remembered this theory when you were teaching the lessons of peace and prosperity to entire world, you remember this theory when you are not in a good condition and I hope you would always remember this even if you achieve your lost glory again.

I would like to give an example. Recently, Narendra Modi won the elections in Gujarat despite the fact that everybody was working against him. Media started saying that he is greater than his party, he is greater than BJP. When they asked the same thing to him, he replied, “Ek bachcha apni Ma se kabhi bhi bada nahi ho sakta”, A child can’t not be bigger than his mother. The principle is same; you may grow as an individual, as a region, as a state but you can never be bigger than your country. But, to say so firmly you need to grow as an individual, as a region and as a state. If you want others to listen to you, you need to be strong.

Stop protesting against all ill-centric statements. You can’t stop them by protest but you can stop them by your progress. The only option you have to work hard. For the time being, look into your home, your village, your district. If necessary help your villagers, help your neighbors. Let them know what’s happening outside. Let them know what people think of them. You don’t need to change their beliefs; you don’t need to change their culture. You just need to motivate them, to stand tall, to show the real strength of Bihar. “Kasam hai tumhe apni matribhumi ki”, “Kasam hai tumhe apne hazarao salo ke itihas ki”, now you have to show your real power, it’s time to work hard. Show the entire world that we still have the capability to lead the nation and to lead entire world. You would never wish to listen to people talking about all his rubbish; you won’t wish that your children go through this humiliation. It’s a time to forget all your inner problems, forget all caste, religion, regional biasness, and break all local barriers. Come together and work for a purpose. Work for a better Bihar, work for bright India which sees Bihar as a great contributor to its development.

Those who are talking rubbish are showing their character, don’t response and reply in same manner. Remember it was never your culture to verbally abuse anybody and if that anybody is your own brother, the son of your own beloved mother India then just forget all these things and most important forgive those people. You can’t grow with having hatred feeling in your heart. Protest against Maharashtrian Governor should be condemned. He hasn’t come from some other country. He deserves to be in Bihar Governor’s house. He has the same right as of you.

“Agar zara sa bhi swabhiman bacha hai tumme to aaj se hi lag jao apne mission pe”. Forget what all are saying, just concentrate on your “Lakshya”. “Lakshya” for a peaceful, prosperous Bihar which could lead India in all fields as it had done for thousands of years. Let’s make this dream come true, and then welcome all Indians as you have always done.

Nitesh ji, hats off to your thoughts. Your view point simulates Bihar’s culture. The post independence experiences teach us a lot. We should no more be thinking that if a central government establishment is planned to settle on other states than we can enjoy equal share of it, which we did it in the past emotionally and foolishly thinking no difference between Patna and Nasik. Let our leaders fight till death to establish same institution in Bihar. Let our politicians pray Ratan Tata to open branch of TCS in Patna. Let our CM learn from Chandra Babu Naidu and hold the feet of Azim Premji to open Wipro in Patna. This will give us ample opportunity to back in Bihar and serve our aged parents and villages to groom further. The current humiliations and resistances make us stronger. “Jab dard nahi tha seene mein tab khaak maja tha jeene mein”. - Parshuram - Mar. 8, 2008

The recent happenings in MH (Maharashtra) are against the principle of nationhood and are directly related to anti-national activities. In my view, nobody has a right to speak anything against any region of India and beating up is a height of atrocities and this spreading of contempt within regions of India is a dangerous portent. Govt must take strict action against all who are involved in anti-national activities.

But what we feel is that political parties want to take advantage of it. This is the reason why no action has been taken place either by MH govt or by central govt. We seriously condemn this heinous act of central govt as well as state govt of MH.

This is very ridiculous that now every political parties in MH want to grab this opportunities for their vote bank which is dangerous portent of any civil society and against nationality. Mockery of the episode is that CHACHA-BHATIJA of MH started fighting saying he is the "Real MH Manus".

Now let them fight.. Let them make mockery of the nation whatever they can till central govt come out of the sleeping bed. It seems country lacks in visionary leadership. They forgot medieval India times. They forgot how Britishers ruled us ...Our leaders have taken negative lesson from the British how to rule India.... And this is the way.. They are doing....

Though it has pained us much to the great extent but if you see the whole hog the reason behind no action, you can understand. It seems, both govt (state and central) will not do anything because they know very well that economically Bihar is nowhere in India; doesn’t contribute much for India as nation. This is one of the hard fact.

Friends, take it very positively and start contributing in development process of the state.

Let us work towards making strong Bihar. Now this is the high time for this which is the best option for well being of the nation too. Bihar is known for revolution and we have done many revolutions in the past. Now TIME has come for "Silent revolution in Bihar" i.e. for development ".

I saw somewhere written

"The lord is the strength of the strong"

It seems this is true in one sense. Take lesson from south India.. Once they were beaten by same CHACHA in the past and now the same CHACHA-BHATIJA cannot utter any wrong words against them. The reason is simple...

Therefore Make yourself strong and then say others.. Then people will think before beating or saying anything bad. - Bibhuti Bikramaditya, Chairman, BiharBrains, Seoul, S Korea - Mar. 8, 2008

I was thinking the same but could not express it. Thank you for the post. I am sure many of us are thinking in the same way. Lets work hard and show the world who we are.

Also, I would like to ask one question, what is Shiv Sena party workers doing in Bihar? - from Motihari - Mar. 8, 2008

This is not the first time the Raj and Bal duo have insulted Biharis, they prevented students from Bihar attending competitive examinations of railways. It appears that they are not only suffering from xenophobia but are also mentally sick, they should be sent to Thane Mental Asylum near their house in Mumbai. The question arises why no comment has come from the champions of politics like the BJP or Congress? Even the left front is silent on the issue. As long as India is governed by communal and corrupt politicians, the poor people will have to face such mass exodus and derogatory remarks. The duo should be booked under TADA. - Dr Anwer Ahsan, Dammam, Saudi Arabia - Mar. 8, 2008

Thank you very much for your overwhelming response.

It's really great to know that we all think in the same direction. But as I have said it's high time to act now. It would be better if we draft a plan and start working on that. We can have a dedicated group which can coordinate with all like minded people and start utilizing their contribution.

Can we have some volunteers for that? - Nitesh Ambuj - Mar. 11, 2008
