I have been
staying out of Patna since 8 years and have been
to Delhi and presently in Bhubaneshwar. One
thing that really amuses me wherever I go is the
way people react, when I say I am from Bihar.
Being so rich in history and culture, I think it
is really a pity that Bihar gets such a
treatment. On a personal level, I think the
Bihari Diaspora faces this problem everywhere
and everyone would be trying on his or her part
to change the shoddy image of Bihar. It would
really be helpful if the government intervenes
for such brand building. We can have more
promotions on the tourist front. Besides, its
high time that those living in there are
motivated. We do not lack in resources, nor are
we lacking in intelligentsia. It just requires a
bit of synchronization and an initiative in this
regard should be taken vigorously by the
government. Merely opening IIT and AIIMS will
not help, when the primary education is lacking
much. If basic amenities are provided to those
lacking them, I think that will be the rise of a
new sun. If a state like Orissa can have as much
as 40 engineering institutes, why can't we? It's
just time to look into our own infirmities and
remove them so that the world sees the better of
us. Lets respect each other so that nobody in
the world can disrespect us.
