Fish with Yogurt

Ingredients:

  • 2 medium onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
  •  teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cardamom
  • ¼ teaspoon turmeric
  • 2 slices ginger, minced
  • 1-pound halibut
  • 1½ teaspoon salt
  • 1½ cup yogurt

Cut fish into serving pieces

Heat oil and brown the onions. Add cumin, cloves, cinnamon, cardamom, turmeric, and ginger. Fry for 2-3 minutes.

Put in fish, salt and yogurt. Mix well and simmer until fish is cooked, watching carefully and stirring occasionally.

If available, use mustard oil.
