- 2 medium onions, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
- teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon ground cardamom
- ¼ teaspoon turmeric
- 2 slices ginger, minced
- 1-pound halibut
- 1½ teaspoon salt
- 1½ cup yogurt
Cut fish into serving pieces
Heat oil and brown the onions. Add cumin,
cloves, cinnamon, cardamom, turmeric, and
ginger. Fry for 2-3 minutes.
Put in fish, salt and yogurt. Mix well and
simmer until fish is cooked, watching carefully
and stirring occasionally.
If available, use mustard oil.
