Kaleji (Liver) Curry

Ingredients:

  • Liver (Mutton) - 1 kg.
  • Oil - 2 cups
  • Tomatoes - 2-3 chopped
  • Yogurt (beater) - 1 cup
  • Onion - 2-3 chopped
  • Ginger, Garlic Paste - 5-6 tsp.
  • Green Chilies - 8-10 chopped
  • Green Coriander - for garnish
  • Red Chili Powder - 1 tsp.
  • Coriander Powder - 1½ tsp.
  • Turmeric - 1 tsp.
  • Gram Masala Powder - 2 tsp.
  • Salt - to taste
  • Fenugreek - 3-4 pieces

Method:

Fry onions in hot oil till golden brown in a pressure cooker. Then add ginger - garlic paste, tomatoes, green chilies, red chilly powder, coriander powder, turmeric, fenugreek, garam masala powder and slightly fry for 2-3 minutes. Then put liver pieces, yogurt, salt and again fry for 5-10 minutes. Now add 1½ glass of water and cover the lid and let it boil up to 5-6 whistles in pressure cooker. Then turn the flame to medium and cook for 10-15 minutes or till liver becomes tender. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves. Serve with naan or roti.
