
Prawn Kabobs

Ingredients:
- 12 raw large shrimp
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons lime juice
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon ground turmeric
- 2 green chilies, seeded, finely
chopped
- 1 teaspoon chopped cilantro (fresh
coriander)
- Lime slices, to garnish
Peel shrimp, leaving tail shells on.
Make a small incision along the spines and remove black vein. Thread on to
skewers and set aside.
Whisk together vegetable oil, lime
juice, garlic, paprika and turmeric. Stir in chilies. Put skewered shrimp
in a non- metal dish; add marinade. Cover and refrigerate 30 minutes,
basting occasionally.
Preheat broiler. Drain skewered
shrimp and place on a broiler rack. Cook 3 to 5 minutes, turning and
basting occasionally with the marinade, until shrimp are pink. Sprinkle
with cilantro and serve hot, garnished with lime slices.
Make 4 servings.
