Patna: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday joined the cast and crew of 'Deswa' at the Regent Theater in Patna for a special screening of the film that is poised to reach major milestones in the world of Bhojpuri films.
Kumar, who arrived at the theater at around 6:15 pm with Tourism Minister Sunil Kumar Pintu and Janata Dal-U legislator Gyanendra Singh Gyanu, was greeted by film star and producer of 'Deswa' Neetu Chandra, her brother and the Director of the film Nitin Chandra, co-stars Kranti Prakash Jha and Deepak Singh, and Music Director Ashutosh Singh, among others.
Enjoying some popcorn and coffee at the interval, the Chief Minister mingled with the cast and crew members of the film and congratulated them for making a meaningful movie that dealt with issues facing today's youths.
"All the actors have done justice with their roles and this shows that Bihari artists are in no way inferior to artists from other states. They have tremendous amount of talent and if given the chance, they could bring laurels to the state," he said.
Nitin Chandra, the Director of the film, said that he had no interest in politics but being a Bihari; he has drawn upon his personal experience and has tried to portray them in this film.
