In less than 3 months from now, the largest democracy of the world is going to have its elections for the 17th Lok Sabha. Based on the current scenario, to many sagacious people, political analysts, and media, the cloud of political situation in next 4-6 months looks a little bit uncertain which way the camel will sit no one knows.
Randhir Verma, I.P.S (Bihar R R 1974) Superintendent of Police (SP) was martyred in an encounter with terrorists who were trying to loot a bank in Dhanbad twenty-seven years ago.

Disclaimer: If I express my less than reverential opinion about Mr. Rahul Gandhi, it does not earn me an automatic membership to Mr. Modi’s fan club. It is not in me to be a 'bhakt', a mandarin, a camp follower, or a palanquin bearer. I am an independent citizen who struts in all seriousness, wearing his cap of sovereignty. The stance of the citizen taking himself seriously, and hanging on to the democratic premise that he is the master, is at the heart of the absurd theatre called electoral democracy: a scene from this Theatre of the Absurd.
Countries like India and many developing and under-developed countries which rank high in "The Corruption Perception Index" of International Transparency, need to make it mandatory for colleges and universities program curriculum to include an important course namely "INTEGRITY AND ANTI-CORRUPTION".
Blessed are the men who hold their own by doing the bidding of their wives. That’s how Lord Shiva held his head high against an irate Goddess Parvati by appearing with a begging bowl before her kitchen in Kashi for food. Again, had Tulsidas forced himself on an unwilling Ratnavali, his wife, there would have been no Ram Charitra Manas. She chided him saying,
Call this country by any name, still the average Indian breaths in immortal India. Mere geographical boundary and ethnic background of an individual has never been the only attraction to any stranger of different race or community across the world who thought of visiting India or even invading it.
We all remember the delight with which we listened to the Loha Singh Shows on the radio growing up. Prof. Rameshwar Singh Kashyap entertained and delighted a whole generation of Bhojpuriyas in his portrayal of Loha Singh, a veteran of the British Indian army reminiscing his exploits on the frontiers of Kabul (Kabul ka morcha) in his village. Almost every Bihari with gray hair remembers the cast of characters - Khaderan ko mother and Phatak Baba.
The nation pays homage to the memory of Dr Rajendra Prasad, the first President of India, on December the 3rd. Today, in the spirit of honoring that great son of Bihar on his birthday, I turned to a few news outlets to know what was happening in Rajen Babu’s as well as my home-state.
Italo Calvino’s memorable fable, Numbers in the Dark, contains some timeless observation on the folly of the wise. A conscientious accountant comes across an error – a small error long committed time back – by the legendry Annibale De Canis, “the master of book keeping,” in a giant Italian conglomerate.
