Patna: A crippled and wounded Janata Dal – U leader Nitish Kumar, on the eve of his record seventh stint for the Chief Minister’s chair in Bihar, said in Patna on Sunday that he had no intention of occupying the seat again but accepted the position only because of mounting pressure from the top Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders and some leaders from his own party.

Patna: Five days after losing the election to the NDA, senior Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Shivanand Tiwari on Sunday slammed the Congress Party blaming it for the bitter loss of his party in the recently-held Assembly elections in Bihar.

Patna: In a new twist to the already bizarre election of Bihar Assembly that has seen enough drama already involving Chirag Paswan disavowing the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and former Mahagathbandhan partner Jitan Ram Manjhi going back to the NDA fold, among others, Congress Party on Wednesday announced fielding former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Shatrughan Sinha’s son Luv Sinha from the Bankipur seat where he will go head to head with incumbent BJP MLA Nitin Navin.

Patna: Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) founder and Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan who died of medical complications shortly after a heart surgery at a hospital in Delhi on Thursday, was cremated with state honors at Patna’s Janardan Ghat in Digha on Saturday with his son and party president Chirag Paswan performing the last rites.

New Delhi: Ram Vilas Paswan, the founder of the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) and a union minister, just days after undergoing a heart surgery at a Delhi hospital, died on Thursday due to medical complications caused by sudden deterioration in his condition.

Patna: With Bihar elections just around the corner, Janata Dal – U and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Bihar reached an agreement on seat sharing with the two parties to split the 243 seats 50-50.

Patna: Ram Vilas Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) is poised to break its ties with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led NDA in Bihar after talks over seat-sharing broke down between the two parties despite several meetings with the BJP top leaders in Delhi.

Patna: Putting all speculations to rest about the Grand Alliance (Mahagathbandhan) Chief Ministerial face in Bihar, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) on Saturday announced that party’s de facto president Tejaswi Yadav will be its candidate for the Chief Minister post in the hope of replacing the incumbent occupant of the chair Nitish Kumar.

Patna: Ram Vilas Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party (LJP), notorious for switching political alliance right before any national or state election, on Tuesday threatened to walk out of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) over its disagreement on seat-sharing arrangement for the upcoming Bihar elections.

Patna: Despite his history of political arm-twisting prior to each state and national election as a bargaining tool, it appears Upendra Kushwaha, the Rashtriya Lok Samata Party (RLSP) chief, is at the end of his rope as neither the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD)-led Mahagathbandhan nor the BJP-led NDA has shown any sign of making a deal with him for the upcoming Bihar elections.
