Gaya: Absconding Janata Dal – U legislator from Gaya Manorama Devi, the mother of accused murderer Rocky Yadav, after remaining nearly a week in hiding, surrendered to the police on Tuesday in a case involving recovery of liquor bottles from her home during the search of her son last week and harboring a fugitive.
Patna: Stung by a barrage of criticism in the wake of the two recent high-profile political murders in the state, a reluctant Nitish Kumar, Bihar Chief Minister, on Monday agreed to a CBI probe into the killing of a journalist in Siwan though he ruled out a similar investigation in the murder of a youth in Gaya involving his own party legislator.
Patna: At least one child was dead due to lack of medical care at the Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) on Monday after junior doctors of the hospital, following a clash with the family members of a patient and the police lathi charge that later ensued, went on an indefinite strike on late Sunday evening.
Gaya: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Union Minister Shahnawaz Hussain on Monday accused the Nitish government of failing to curb crime in Bihar saying Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was more interested in patting his own back after the crime is committed instead of trying to stop crime from being committed in the first place.
Siwan/Patna: Family members of slain journalist Rajdev Ranjan on Sunday demanded a CBI probe into his murder saying they had no trust in Chief Minister Nitish Kumar because of his administration's close proximity with former Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MP Mohammed Shahabuddin who, many are saying, ordered the killing of the Hindustan bureau chief of Siwan.
Gaya: Parents of the slain Gaya youth Aditya Sachdeva on Thursday hit back at Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and Deputy Chief Minister Tejaswi Yadav for comparing their son's murder to Pathankot terror attack saying if that was si then Rocky Yadav, his mother and absconding Janata Dal – U legislator Manorama Devi, and her criminal husband Bindi Yadav must be treated as terrorists as well.
Patna: Janata Dal – U legislative council member Manorama Devi has reportedly gone into hiding after an arrest warrant was issued against her and her house in Gaya sealed by the police following recovery of liquor bottles from her home during a Monday raid in connection with the murder of a youth allegedly by her son Rocky Yadav.
