Patna: With flood situation remaining grim in many districts in Bihar, the Center has dispatched five teams of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) to assist six teams of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) in combating flood where nearly a lakh people are said to be stranded for days in anticipation of being rescued by the state government.

Patna: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, while reviewing preparation for the 100th anniversary celebration of Mahatma Gandhi's Satyagraha movement in Champaran in Patna on Sunday, came up with an explanation for promoting use of alcohol in the first ten years of his rule in Bihar saying he was only trying to regulate the liquor business during his first two terms and when he thought the situation was well within control, he decided to impose prohibition in the state.
Patna: The leader of the opposition in Bihar Assembly Dr. Prem Kumar on Friday mocked the 'born-again prohibition evangelist' Nitish Kumar saying where was the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi when as the Chief Minister of Bihar, Kumar was opening liquor shops at each nook and cranny of the state between 2005 and 2015.
