Patna: Central Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh, on the second and last day of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) working committee meeting in Patna on Monday took a dig at Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for ignoring agriculture in his much-hyped 'Seven-point Agenda' for the development of Bihar.
Accusing Kumar of failing to utilize fund allocated for agriculture in the state, Singh said that the Center had more than doubled the allowance to boost agricultural scenario in Bihar but the Chief Minister had not only failed to put them to proper use, it appeared he had no interest in utilizing the fund at all since agriculture did not even appear in his 'Seven-point Agenda'.
Senior BJP leader and the leader of the opposition in the state assembly Dr. Prem Kumar took a shot at the Congress and its allies including the Janata Dal – U and the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) for trying to create communal disturbance in the nation to malign the image of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
"The opposition is engaging in a very dangerous game of politics that threatens to weaken the nation. These people are against everything not because on their merits but because they do not want any credit to go to the Prime Minister. The fact that India's image has been enhanced under the leadership of Narendra Modi is bothering a lot of people and that is why they have adopted the one-point agenda of opposing the NDA no matter what," Dr. Kumar said.
Speaking on the occasion, party spokesperson Vinod Narayan Jha asked the party workers to go to the people of Bihar and highlight the key features of the union budget that he said was pro-people and pro-farmer formulated to help the poor.
