Patna: Union Telecommunication and Information and Technology Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, dispelling the opposition's propaganda of India slumping economically under the premiership of Narendra Modi, said that anyone who looked at the numbers impartially would disagree with the opposition's claim that the nation had weakened both economically and socially under the two-year old NDA administration.
"I would like to remind people like Chief Minister Nitish Kumar that while China, according to the World Economic Outlook update, had registered a growth rate of 6.8 percent in 2015, America 2.8 %, Germany 1.6%, Japan 0.6%, and England 2.2%, India's growth rate for the same period was 7.5%. If Nitish Kumar is being honest, he would know these numbers are not lying," the senior BJP leader said at a press conference in Patna on Monday.
Prasad also took Bihar Chief Minister to task on his support to Communist leader and Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) President Kanhaiya Kumar and his followers saying the slogans chanted by them were anti-national and those who tried to break the country must be dealt with strongly.
"We can understand the criticism of a person, leader, party, or a government but we are not going to sit tight and do nothing when it comes to the honor or criticism of the nation," the Union Minister said.
Offering a glimpse of technological development in the state, Prasad said that the Center was soon opening 10,000 Common Service Centers in Bihar that would provide opportunities to more than 50,000 youths in the state.
He further said that in the coming years, the BSNL would install 2000 2G and 3G cell phone towers in Bihar to improve connectivity and to minimize call droppings and appealed to the Chief Minister to make land available for the electronic cluster and software parks in the state.BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
