Patna: Former Director of the CBI Joginder Singh, talking to the reporters in Patna on Wednesday, came down heavily upon the Indian politicians saying they robbed India more than the British did in nearly 350 years of their rule.

Referring to recent scams including 2G and Coal Gate, Singh, who was in Patna to promote Aryans Scholarship Helpline at Hotel Matrya Inn, said that the Indian politicians robbed India in one scam alone as much as the British did during their entire stay in India.

"If you leave the office of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India, the judiciary, and the Election Commission, all other government agencies are corrupt and have no autonomy to work freely. Even the CBI office is like that. These departments act like the advisory bodies of the Central government and you cannot even take legal actions against corrupt officials unless you get the approval from the higher-ups," the former CBI Director said.

It may be recalled that Singh was the CBI Director when charges were filed against Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and the then Chief Minister of Bihar Lalu Prasad Yadav for his involvement in the multi-crore rupees fodder scam.

"I had a lot of pressure from the top to withdraw the case in the fodder scam but I did what I thought was right," he said.
