Patna: As widely anticipated, the business of bootlegging is beginning to boom in Bihar as people rush to smuggle alcoholic drinks from the neighboring states of Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal and in some cases, even from Nepal.
On Monday, the Government Railway Police (GRP) at Patna Junction arrested four men in possession of fifteen bottles of India Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL).
The bottles were recovered following intensive raid on passenger trains break vans, pantry cars, and general compartments, officials said.
After registering the case with the railway police, the four men were sent to jail in judicial custody.
Railway officials are investigating the role of pantry car employees in the ongoing bootlegging operation.BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
