Patna: Just hours after the son of a Janata Dal – U legislator shot and killed a 20-year old youth in Gaya for daring to pass his vehicle, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and Deputy Chief Minister Tejaswi Yadav played the 'Narendra Modi' card saying the so-called 'Jungle Raj II Bihar' was still performing much better than the NDA-ruled government at the Center.

"Compared to what is going on under the Modi administration at the Center, Bihar is performing much better under Jungle Raj II in Bihar," Yadav, the son of party chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, said at a press conference in Patna on Sunday.

Ignoring the murder of 20-year old Aditya Kumar Sachdeva who was shot and killed by Rocky Yadav, the son of criminal-turned-politicians Bindeshwari Yadav and JD-U legislator Manorama Devi, for having the temerity to pass the legislator's son's car in Gaya on Saturday night, Tejaswi Yadav, who also serves as the Road Construction Minister, chose to talk about development in road construction in Bihar.

"The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has built only 60 kilometer road in Bihar in 2015-15. In comparison, the Public Works Department (PWD) in Bihar has built over 1500 kilometer new road in the same period," Yadav said.

The Deputy Chief Minister declared files closed on several electoral promises made by the Mahagathbandhan including implementing total prohibition, providing free Wi Fi to all colleges and universities, loans up to Rs. 4 lakh to students through student credit card, among others, saying these pledges were fulfilled as promised. However, on close inspection, neither the colleges and universities have any Wi Fi coverage nor students were found running around with a credit card in their pockets with Rs. 4 lakh in their accounts.

Unlike the Center, the Mahagathbandhan has delivered results in just six months. You wait and watch how we fulfill our promises in the coming days," the RJD leader said.

On the occasion, Yadav introduced Bulo Mandal as the new national President of the Yuva RJD and Mohammed Sohaib as its state President.

State Party President Ramchandra Purvey, Ministers Alok Mehta and Shivchandra Ram; and national spokesperson Manoj Jha were also present at the press conference.
