Gaya: After more than seven hours of raid at various places, the Gaya police on early Monday morning succeeded in nabbing absconding Rocky Yadav, the son of a Janata Dal – U legislator, in the killing of 20-year old Aditya Sachdeva, the son of a Gaya businessman, that Patna on Saturday night.
With conflicting reports of Rocky confessing to the police of killing the youth along with his denials saying he was in Delhi when the crime was committed, the son of JD-U legislative council member Manorama Devi and notorious gangster Bindi Yadav was captured from his hideout at a dairy farm owned by his father.
Meanwhile, the JD-U suspended Manorama Devi from the party for a period of six years after police found several bottles of liquor from her home in Gaya during a police raid on Monday night.
Eight bottles of alcohol were also recovered from place where the alleged killer was hiding, police said adding, besides murder, Rocky would be also be charged under various Excise laws since Bihar was declared a dry state by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on April 1 this year.
Sources said police tracked Rocky Yadav by his cell phone record that showed he had been in constant contact with his mother and father.
After strong denial initially that her son was somehow involved in the murder of Aditya Sachdeva, Manorama Devi eventually gave in under police pressure and personally led them to her son's hideout resulting in his arrest.
Police also recovered the weapon used in killing Aditya.
"We are sending the gun to the forensic lab to confirm it's the same gun that was used in committing this heinous crime," Gaya Superintendent of Police (SP) Garima Mallik said.
The police had earlier arrested Rocky's father Bindi Yadav and his bodyguard for aiding and abetting a fugitive on the run.
