Girls Outperform Boys in CBSE Class X Exams

Class X students celebrate their success in CBSE exams in Patna on Saturday.

Patna: Once again breaking the stereotype that they were somehow weaker than their male counterparts, girls in Bihar performed better than the boys in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class X exams the results of which were announced on Saturday.

As reported, girls appearing in the exams edged out the boys by a score of 98.03% to 97.80% with an overall success rate of 96.47%.

Patna region that includes schools in Bihar and Jharkhand came at fourth place nationally with its overall pass percentage of 97.88% coming behind Thiruvananthapuram (99.87%), Chennai (99.69%), and Guwahati (98.04%).

Altogether 158,622 students had appeared in the CBSE exams in the Patna region with the number of boys being 105,817 and girls being 52,805.
