Patna: The seemingly never-ending protest by the students of Patna Art and Craft College continued on Tuesday as protestors, egged on by a number of student outfits, took out a rally from Patna University main gate only to be contained by the police at the JP Roundabout near Gandhi Maidan.

Demanding the sacking of college Principal S. K. Sinha and the security guard of Patna University Vice Chancellor Dr. Y. C. Simhadri who had brandished his revolver during a recent protest outside the VC's house, along with the reinstatement of eight students who were earlier expelled by the college, the rally was on its way to the Raj Bhawan when senior police officials stopped them at the JP Roundabout from moving forward.

This led to a minor altercation between the students and the law enforcement officials but the police quickly took control of the situation and agreed to take a delegation of seven students to the Governor's house.

Representing several student unions including All India Students Association (AISA), All India Students Federation (AISF), and Jan Adhikar Council, the police escorted seven students to the Governor's mansion where they presented their list of demands to the secretary of Governor Ram Nath Kovind.
