Death on Patna Roads – Mom, Son Die in Road Accident

Patna: A woman and a two-year old boy died when the motorcycle they were riding on was hit head on by a speeding truck under Agam Kuan police station on Wednesday.

The scene of the accident.The incident occurred a little after 11:00 am when a husband-wife couple, along with their two year old son, were going somewhere on their motorcycle. Suddenly a truck coming from the opposite direction lost control and slammed into the two-wheeler and ran over the body of the woman and the child.

They were rushed to the Nalanda Medical College and Hospital (NMCH) where the mother and son were declared dead on arrival. The father, who was also injured seriously, is said to be in critical condition fighting for his life.

As always, an angry mob blocked National Highway 30 for hours causing a major jam spanning several kilometers. They also damaged several passing by vehicles demanding arrest of the truck driver who managed to slip away from the scene before he could be caught.

Officials were trying to identify the victims and the truck driver.
