Patna: In further evidence of Bihar education collapsing under the current administration, members of two rival student organizations at Patna College on Tuesday clashed with each other that left several students bloodied requiring urgent medical care.

{gallery}newsimages2016/jun/060716{/gallery}The clash between the All India Students Federation (AISF) and the Janata Dal – U activists began over the scheduling of Patna Art College exams. While the AISF wanted the exams to be postponed until June 15, JD-U workers wanted to go ahead with the test as scheduled for today.

Using furniture and canes, rival students beat each other up leaving half a dozen injured. When request to break up the fight did not work, police resorted to lathi charge in which at least three more students were hurt.

Injured students were rushed to the nearby Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) where four remain hospitalized while the rest were released after being given the first aid.

Though there were 29 students to appear in the exam, 16 of them left due to fear of violence leaving only 13 to take the exam under tight security condition.

Three students were taken into custody.

This was the second day in a row for the two groups to clash within Patna University campus.
