Patna: Bihar Governor Ramnath Kovind on Tuesday unveiled a life-size statue of former Chief Minister of Bihar late Satyendra Narayan Sinha at the children's park in Sri Krishna Puri while also officially changing the name of the park from SK Puri Children's Park to Satyendra Narayan Sinha Park.
The event coincided with the 99th birth anniversary of late Sinha (July 12, 1917- September 4, 2006) who served as the Chief Minister of Bihar between 1989 and 1990.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Deputy Chief Minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejaswi Yadav, former Governor of Nagaland and Kerala and the son of Satyendra Babu Nikhil Kumar, Sinha's wife Kishori Sinha, former MP and daughter Shyama Sinha were also present on the occasion along with a number of senior JD-U and RJD leaders.
"Sri Sinha was a great humanitarian and an educationist who changed the face of education in Bihar by his radical and innovative ideas that were far ahead of their time.
