Patna: After remaining closed for nearly three months amidst widespread protest against the college Principal, Patna University Registrar Sanjay Kumar Sinha on Wednesday unlocked the door of the Principal's office at the Patna Art College and let the new Principal Arun Kamal take over the office earlier occupied by S. K. Sinha.

In the presence of several university officials and student union leaders, the Registrar unlocked the door of the Principal's office that had been under lock and key for the last 80 days when the angry students launched their agitation demanding the reinstatement of eight students who had been suspended earlier and the removal of the sitting Principal.

The new Principal took stock of the situation and assured the students to manage college affairs with the help of students and college officials.

The Principal, accompanied by the Registrar and student leaders, also visited the classrooms and hostels and ordered immediate repair of dilapidating infrastructure including power cables, drinking water facilities, and bathrooms for both students and faculties.
