Patna: Patna Divisional Commissioner Anand Kishore on Saturday inaugurated a karate training program sponsored by the Sri Krishna Memorial Development Committee (SKMDC) near Gate No. 3 of the Gandhi Maidan.

Prasing the efforts of the SKMDC, Kishore said that he was encouraged by their efforts in a number of social welfare schemes that are certain to bear fruits in the coming days and months.

"I am very pleased to know that many of the children who have been trained by this camp in the past have gone on to bring name and fame for themselves and their state in national level competitions. They have earned 12 bronze, silver, and gold medals in tournaments across the nation,' he said.

The Divisional Commissioner further said that it was heartening to know that two girls from Bihar won a gold and bronze medal in the under-21 Kai International Sub-junior tournament in New Delhi and two other girls, for the first time in Bihar's history, were poised to represent India in the upcoming World Karate Federation and Asian Karate Federation tournaments," the Development Commissioner said.
