Patna: District Magistrate Sanjay Kumar Agrawal on Friday visited the District Registration Office on Buddha Marg where he announced the administration's decision to move the office to a bungalow in Chhajjubagh for better accommodation and facilities.

The office boasts having registration records going as far back as 1795 that are in the process of being digitized. The current office is in a very dilapidated condition besides being small hence the decision to move it to a new location," the DM said.

The new location is spread in an area of two acres. Awaiting minor repair works and cleaning up, the registration office would move to the new office by 1st September.

Agrawal said that the new office would have ample parking for visitors and will have shaded areas for visitor to wait for their turn. A special room will be allocated to the newly-weds who would be able to get their photos taken by a professional photographer. Furthermore, it will have a canteen to serve some snacks where visitors could just sit, relax, or watch television until their names are called.
