CM Celebrates Rakshabandhan at the Rajdhani Vatika

Patna: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday celebrated Rakshabandhan by tying Rakhi to a tree at the Rajdhani Vatika, erstwhile known as the Eco Park, where he also inaugurated the 3rd annual Vriksha Suraksha Diwas in the presence of senior party leaders and bureaucrats.


{gallery}newsimages2016/aug/081816{/gallery}"In 2011, we had set a goal of increasing the green zone of Bihar from 9% to 17%. By 2014, we had increased the green zone to 13 % and I am sure by now we have achieved our goal of 17%," the Chief Minister said.

Kumar also inaugurated the third phase of the 'Adventure Park' and also released a CD highlighting the features and facilities of the Rajdhani Vatika.

Senior Janata Dal – U leader Shyam Rajak and Principal Secretary of the Forest and Environment department Vivek Kumar Singh were among many who were present on the occasion.

Earlier, the Chief Minister celebrated Rakhi with his sisters, school children, and the sisters of the Prajapati Brahma Kumari at his residence.
