Kadam Kuan Social Club Observes Teachers' Day

Patna: To mark Teachers' Day on Monday, a seminar on "Quality Education" was held at the Baldev Sahay Bhawan in Kadam Kuan under the auspices of Social Club and Prof. Indira Sinha Educational Foundation.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Y D Prasad, Vice President of the Social Club and former Director of A .N. Sinha Institute of Social studies, lamented the sharp decline in the quality of education in Bihar while stressing the need for all round development in the education system by improving infrastructure and hiring only qualified teachers.

Former Governor of Tripura and renowned educationist Prof. Siddheshwar Prasad, in his inaugural speech, said that the teachers should not only be role models of the students but of the entire society because it were the teachers who were responsible for producing responsible citizens of the future.

Eminent physician and the Chairman of Prof. Indira Sinha Memorial Foundation Dr. Gopal Prasad Sinha said that the teachers were the pillars of the society and the future of students depended on their teachers. "The quality of teachers and teaching must be very high in order to produce quality students," he said.

Justice Uday Sinha, in his address, also emphasized the need for quality teachers and improvement in the teaching methodology for a better, stronger India.

On the occasion, several educationists were honored with Prof. Indira Sinha Samman including
Former Vice Chancellor of Patna University Prof. Md. Mohiuddin, former Principal of Magadh Mahila College Prof. Mala Ghosh, eminent physician Dr. Gopal Prasad, former Patna Science College English professor K. M. Tiwari, Prof. Devi Prasad, Prof. O. P. Jaysawal, and Prof. Y D Prasad, former Director, A .N. Sinha Institute of Social studies.

Dr Gopal Prasad presented a memento on behalf of the Indira Sinha Memorial Educational Foundation to Prof. Siddheshwar Prasad and Justice Uday Sinha.

Prof. A K Kuliar, Mr. Narendra Narayan, Navneet Nandan Sahay, and Rajesh Khanna were among many others who were also present on the occasion, PatnaDaily Political Director and founder/CEO of PolityIndia.com Punyatma Sharan said.
