Patna: Members of the Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee (BPCC) in Patna on Monday held what was described as 'anti-NDA Agenda Convention' to excoriate Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his decision to demonetize Rs. 500 and Rs. 2000 notes in India.
"By doing so, the Prime Minister has put the entire Parliamentary system in jeopardy. Instead of ending rising cost of essential goods, he very successfully exterminated the buyers of these goods," Congress in-charge of Bihar C P Joshi said at the convention.
Congress leaders, who had held a daylong dharna at Gardanibagh in Patna on January 6 for the same reason, said that the Modi government at the Center was very good at propaganda and in order to make the NDA look good, it would manipulate with the budget numbers and may even put some money in the account of some poor person to show that it is trying to keep its promises that it made in the Parliamentary elections.
"We must be very careful of the NDA's sinister design and agendas because its goal is to help the rich and punish the poor," Joshi said asking all party workers to stage similar dharnas at block level to oppose demonetization.
Congress state President and Bihar Education Minister Ashok Kumar Chowdhary, Amita Bhushan, Dilip Chowdhary and former Central Minister Akhilesh Prasad Singh were among many who were present on the occasion.BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
