Patna: With the threat of imprisonment growing by the day in connection with massive corruption charges against them, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and his son and former Deputy Chief Minister Tejaswi Yadav on Saturday informed the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) about their inability to appear before it due to their 'pre-scheduled political obligations'.

While the senior Yadav was ordered by the CBI to appear before it on Monday, Sept. 11 in Delhi, his son was summoned on Tuesday, Sept. 12 in the hotel for land scandal that took place when the RJD chief was the Railway Minister of India and his wife Rabri Devi was the Chief Minister of Bihar.

The lawyer for the RJD father-son duo on Saturday informed the CBI that while Lalu Prasad Yadav was preoccupied in fodder scam hearing in Jharkhand, Tejaswi Yadav had pre-scheduled political events in Bhagalpur thus making him unavailable for the CBI hearing.

The CBI is yet to issue a statement in this regard.
